Landscapes in Greece and Two US National Parks:
Santorini is an island in the southern Aegean Sea about 120 miles southeast off of Greece’s mainland. It is the largest island of a small, circular string of smaller islands which bears the same name and is the remnant of a volcanic caldera.
Arches National Park in Utah is one of the smallest national parks to make up the National Park system. Arches is filled with landscapes that are both strange and beautiful - the sandstone arches which are illuminated at sunset are the iconic image of this park.
Mesa Verde, Spanish for green table, offers a spectacular look into the lives of the Ancestral Pueblo people who made it their home for over 700 years, from AD 600 to 1300. Today the park protects nearly 5,000 known archeological sites, including 600 cliff dwellings. These sites are some of the most notable and best preserved in the United States.
